| Welcome to the Hu Jianqiang Cultural Exchange Center Online | | | The Hu Jianqiang Cultural Exchange Center is dedicated to the promotion of friendship and cultural exchange among all people. The Center is located in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China, and was founded by wushu masters Hu Jianqiang and his wife Zong Jianmei. Master Hu is twice former all around Chinese National Martial Arts Champion, Asian film star and martial arts film choreographer. During his time on the Chinese National Team, he traveled to more than 30 countries, learning to appreciate the uniqueness of each culture, and especially of the people. Through his talent for wushu, he has established friendships that span the globe. | | | With the addition of wushu as a sport in the Beijing 2008 Olympics, wushu is becoming more popular around the world. The Olympics will draw world attention to the most spectacular of martial arts. Seeing the growing popularity of wushu, Masters Hu and Zong realized that they could use their expertise in the Chinese martial arts to promote cultural exchange by opening a central place in the heart of wushu country where people from around the world could come and receive the best of training in the new Olympic style of wushu. But the Chinese martial arts go much deeper. Wushu should be for all people. The Center provides the highest quality traditional Chinese martial arts instruction where people of any age can train in many styles according to ability. | | The Center overlooks beautiful West Lake, which is about a 15 minute walk. West Lake is surrounded by parks and if you get to one early enough, you can watch or possibly participate in a taiji or qigong class. You can also witness literally hundreds of people practicing various styles of taiji, qigong and wushu, or ballroom dancing in suits and gowns at 5:00 am!
