The Shaolin Wushu Center is owned and operated by China's two-time all around Wushu champion, fight scene choreographer, gongfu film star and Jet Li's movie partner, with over 30 year's experience, Grand Master Hu Jianqiang, and his wife, former Zhejiang Wushu Team coach and international Wushu judge, Master Zong Jianmei. Established in 1997, and now with centers on both coasts, the Shaolin Wushu Center is one of the leading centers for the study of Chinese Martial Arts in America. The Center has organized and sponsored three international Wushu tournaments and festivals and 18 major Wushu and cultural events between China and the U.S.
The Shaolin Wushu Center offers a variety of classes in Gongfu (Kung Fu) and Taiji (T'ai Chi) for athletes of all ages and athletic abilities--from the novice to the seasoned international competitor. Training is available in many styles of open-hand and weapons traditions, including northern and southern fist, staff, broadsword, straight sword, 9-section chain-whip, mimetic animal styles such as praying mantis, snake and eagle, and various styles of taiji and qigong. Classes are also available in stage combat and choreography. Group training and private lessons are available.
The Shaolin Wushu Center also has an international exchange program that gives our students the opportunity to visit and train in China.
